Revocal is a reverse singing and talk backwards app for iPhone and Android. It reverses any phrase so you hear exactly what you have to imitate, drills you until you can say it, then films one take and reverses the whole clip, picture and sound, so you appear to sing the line perfectly.

Say or sing a line, hear it backwards, learn the backwards version and film it. Revocal stitches the reveal with the words underneath, ready to post.
ReverseVid films you and hands the clip straight back reversed, picture and sound together. Send it and let your friends work out what you said.
ReverseAU is sound only. Record a line, play it backwards, say the backwards version yourself, then hear yourself come out forwards.
The challenge looks like a filter and isn't. You pick a song line, record it and play it backwards. What comes out is nonsense: a string of sounds with no words in it. Your job is to learn to sing that nonsense out loud, convincingly enough that when your recording is reversed, the original line comes back.
That is why the good clips are funny. The first half is someone gurgling at a camera with total commitment. The second half is the same clip backwards, and suddenly they are word-perfect. The joke only lands with both halves, which is why Revocal exports them together. More on the reverse singing challenge.
People assume you spell the words in reverse. You don't. English spelling has almost nothing to do with it. You reverse the sounds, and reversed sounds are often ones English never makes. That is the whole difficulty, and it is learnable:
Examples, and why some sounds refuse to reverse cleanly: how to talk backwards, step by step.
You say or sing a line of deliberate nonsense, record it, then play the recording backwards. If you got the nonsense right, the reversed audio comes out as a real sentence. The joke is the gap between the two: the struggle, then the reveal. The full explanation.
You don't reverse the letters. You reverse the sounds. Take the phrase you want people to hear, play it backwards, and learn to imitate that backwards audio by ear, chunk by chunk, slowed down. Revocal does the reversing and the drilling for you. Step-by-step guide.
Most people need five to ten attempts on a short phrase before the reversal is recognisable, and it helps to listen to the backwards audio twenty times or more before your first go. It is a skill, not a filter.
Playing a song backwards gives you nonsense. Reverse singing is you performing that nonsense well enough that your own recording, reversed, turns back into the real words.
Yes. The whole clip reverses together, picture and audio, so the finished video shows you apparently saying the line perfectly.
Yes. Revocal makes a vertical video with the words shown on screen and hands it to the iPhone share sheet, so it goes straight to TikTok, Reels, Shorts, WhatsApp or anywhere else you share video.
Yes, Revocal is free to download on iPhone and Android. On the free plan each recording is up to ten seconds, and videos you share carry a small Revocal watermark and end card. Revocal Pro removes the time limit, the watermark and the end card.
