Revocal for iPhone · Help, answers and how to reach a person
Email [email protected] and you will get a reply from a person, usually within two working days.
To help us fix it faster, say which iPhone you have, which iOS version, and what you did just before it went wrong. A screen recording is worth more than any description.
How the trick works
Record a line normally. Revocal plays it back to you reversed. Copy that sound as closely as you can and record yourself saying the nonsense version. Play that second recording in reverse and your voice comes out saying the original line forwards.
ReverseAU does this with voice alone. ReverseVid does it on camera, flipping the picture and the sound together so you can send the reveal as a video.
Common questions
My recording sounds quiet
Take your thumb off the bottom edge of the phone, where the microphone sits, and keep the phone about a hand's width from your mouth. A loud room makes the flipped version harder to copy, so a quiet room is worth finding.
Nothing was recorded
Check that Revocal has the microphone in Settings, Privacy and Security, Microphone. Speech recognition lives in the same place under Speech Recognition. If both are on and it still happens, email us.
The camera is black or frozen
Close Revocal fully and open it again. If another app was using the camera, iOS sometimes hands it back slowly. Camera access is in Settings, Privacy and Security, Camera.
My video will not save
Saving needs permission to add to your photo library, and it needs free space on the phone. Both are worth checking before anything else.
The backwards spelling looks strange
It is meant to. It is a phonetic guide to the sound you just heard, not a real word, and it is there to read from while you perform. Trust your ears over the spelling when the two disagree.
I recorded something and cannot find it
Everything you keep is in Archive: clips on one side, voice tracks on the other.
Subscriptions
Revocal Pro is sold as a weekly pass or an annual pass. It lifts the recording length limit, removes the watermark from exports and removes the Revocal card at the end of a reveal. Everything else in the app is free.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple to your Apple Account and renew until cancelled. To cancel, open the Settings app, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Revocal and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs to its end.
Bought Pro and the app still shows Free? Open the gear in Revocal and tap Restore purchases, with the same Apple Account you bought it with.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us, at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something went wrong on our side, tell us anyway and we will help you make the case.
